About Luke's Teaching
In addition to being an actor himself, Luke Hill has been working with actors for more than twenty years as a director, coach, and acting teacher. His methods incorporate the fundamentals of actor training with insights from the fields of psychology and neuroscience, as well as his ongoing work with meditation and mindfulness, to help actors develop an approach that enlivens their connection to their work, and to their own creative spirit.
“My approach to teaching stems from the recognition that every actor, and every role, is unique. Building upon the foundational work of Stanislavski and The Group Theatre, I draw on a wide range of techniques to adapt to the individual needs of each person I work with. For actors to push their boundaries, expand their creativity, and truly flourish as artists, they must have an environment where they feel safe to dig deep and explore aspects of themselves in new and profound ways. My first priority as a teacher is creating a safe space where an actor feels supported and encouraged to explore, take risks, and find a greater connection to themselves.“
